You receive complete drawings and calculations, sealed by a Washington-licensed PE and ready for permit submission. If the plan reviewer has comments, the engineer who drew it responds directly.
If the wall is load-bearing — and many interior walls in Western Washington homes are — most jurisdictions require engineered drawings before they'll issue a permit. A quick consult can usually tell you where your wall stands.
